The 22 Remington Jetis also known as the 22 Centerfire Magnum, because it was a combined effort by Remington who developed the cartridge and Smith and Wesson, who developed the Model 53 revolver. Although announced in 1959, production of revolvers and ammunition did not occur until 1961.
