Notice
BIIG (formerly IINGRIDD) and it's website are no longer in existence. This page will be retained for historical purposes only. Names and contact details have been retained, but it is not advisable to contact them unless you know they are still with us.
This page contains information on the venues at which the Bee Instrumental Insemination Group, formerly known as IINGRIDD has it's meetings and committee meetings, with maps and information on how to get there.
They are in no particular order and are placed here for information purposes.
The village of Islip, on Otmoor in Oxfordshire is one place where we have BIIG committee meetings (in the village hall). 'Information dissemination days' are also held in this hall.
The group also has a presence at the BBKA spring convention, The Welsh Beekeepers' Association Annual Convention and National Honey Show. Meetings that are designated "Information Dissemination Days" have considerable educational content including displays of various types of instrument as well as working set-ups that will allow 'hands on' training under the supervision of an experienced operator.
Information Dissemination Days will also have lectures, discussion sessions and videos as well as information on making your own instruments, tips and illuminators.
The village hall is marked with a red and yellow square.
The church (illustrated below left) is a tall landmark that will guide you close.
If approaching from the north look to your right as the road bends to the left and you will see a sign that says "Village hall and Shop". The shop is situated in the Village Hall building.
Islip Church is shown at left
Meetings are also held at BBKA headquarters, NAC, Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire. and maps of the general area as well as a plan of the Showground that shows the BBKA headquarters building and the hall that the spring convention is held in, are included further down the page.
