The 1990 Petanque League was formed in that year to cater for those wishing to play the game at a friendly pub level without restrictions. At the moment there are 40 teams playing in five divisions, but considerable growth is expected in the 1997 Season. Players may use leisure or competition boule and all players are covered by insurance. Apart from League matches two cup competitions take place, as do events for triples, doubles and singles. Trophies are presented at a special event arranged at Queniborough in November. The Annual General Meeting will take place on Tuesday 18th March 1997, which is also the latest date for team registration. The entry fee is £25 per team of six which includes insurance for all players. |
